What color is he/she? Is he/she registered. If so what is he/she registered as? (i.e. AQHA) How many hands is he/she? What type of riding/events do you and your horse do? Voting Question: Anyone want to help me and my friend look for a horse!?
Okay, I'm helping my pal look for a horse. She's located in New Smyrna Beach FL, zip code 32168 (somewhere in or close there would be good) Things shes looking for in a horse: Has to be a gelding only, other horse doesn't receive along with mares. 14.3 to 15.2 hands. Western, barrel trained preferred but doesn't have to be. Good temperment. Not crazy. Has to be good for a beginner/intermediate. No vices. I feel like I'm forgetting a few things, lol. But if you find any it would help us a TON! Thanks! AND don't post any horse sites for me to go on, I've looked on every website you could think of. I only found 1 horse so far, but I wanna look if anyone else can find any horses for us. :)
Voting Question: What supplies should I have?
My mom and I, are wanting to purchase a horse in Kansas- after I finish high school here in California. I want an adult male horse gelding. I was wondering what is completely necessary to buy before we buy one? (Like what should be my first saddle type, etc...) I've had years of riding lessons for western riding, and english. He's going to be living on my uncles property, so there won't be boarding. And, I don't believe we need horse shoes, because we're only riding him on grass (We will of coarse have his hooves trimmed though). I think that's every the info you need to answer my question... P.S. What's a better name: Buck Shot, Whiskey, or Marvin?
Voting Question: Western riders--back cinches?
I need to put a back cinch on my saddle, 'cause the mare my bfs sister rides using my saddle likes to crowhop, a lot, and the saddle kinda flips up and freaks the kid out... And the saddle just frustrates me anyway. But anyways, none of that matters. I've been looking at Tractor Supply, and every the one in my town seems to have are nylon back cinches. Like, the whole dealio is nylon--the straps, the cinch itself... Everything. Anyone have//used a nylon back cinch? I'd REALLY like to have a leather one, but I'd like to just receive one locally if possible, rather than order one... So if a nylon one is perfectly fine (like, not going to rub or anything) then I can learn to live with it. I don't show or anything, so I'm not too worried about how it looks. I just don't wanna receive something that's going to make my horse uncomfortable. Thoughts//opinions on nylon cinches? Are they good, or should I avoid it like the plague? Thanks.

Resolved Question: Please rate my essay? I really need some help!?
Here it is: This summer, my family and I spent a week of July in the quaint sea side town of Ningaloo, located in the western extremes of Australia. One day, a scuba diving session was scheduled for our family. Looking at the calm, cerulean blue sea water one wouldn’t expect to look something stupendous underneath it but every my incredulity vanished as the flurry of bubbles which shrouded my vision as a result of diving into the water cleared and revealed to me a colourful underwater metropolis of coral. I tried to exclaim “wow” but what came instead were a few bubbles through my diving mask as I saw the eerie brain coral, the peculiar table coral and the rainbow of colours which painted these underwater marvels making them look astonishingly beautiful. The striped clownfish, the colour changing cuttlefish, the Yellow Tangs and the little damsel fish increased the beauty tenfold. As I began plucking coral samples, I was unaware of a huge figure looming up behind me until I turned around and looked it straight in the eyes. It was at least 12 metres long and had a black body which was striped and spotted with pale blue. I immediately recognised it as a whale shark and didn’t panic as whale sharks are known to be very docile creatures. The titan serenely floated over to me and gave me a playful nudge. I realised it was a friendly creature so I grabbed onto a fin gently and to my surprise the creature began to swim, pulling me along for a ride. I mounted onto its back, holding onto its fin for support. It was like riding a horse except much more exciting. The shark began to move up and down, twisted its body and swam in loop de loops with such speed it was like an underwater roller coaster! Before I knew it the shark began to swim towards the surface and it actually leaped into the air like a dolphin. It was truly an enchanting experience with the salty sea wind in my hair, a beautiful sunset and riding my new pal (whom I incidentally named Obsidian)! The topic was "An enchanting summer experience" and I came up with this (this is a true story mind you).

Resolved Question: Do they actually do this?!?
I ride english so don't know much about western. I went up to a show with one of my friends (who does english and western) and on the way there in a field there was a truck with a horse tied to the bed as it was moving. I looked at my pal in disgust and asked what in the hell they were doing. She said oh they are just exercising their barrel horses. I was actually sick to my stomach at that and didn't think and STILL don't think barrel racers actually exercise their horses this way?? Do people actually do this?? Chasin Rodeo: They weren't driving super quick, but their horse was trotting and struggling to keep up. Pickled Pigs Feet: I am not stereotyping, I was TOLD that. And that is why I am asking so I understand fully. And no, not overly dramatic, I was thinking of the horses, I had no idea it was safe. Once again thats why I asked the question. Never said struggling to trot, I said struggling to keep up the truck. I thought this site was to ask questions you were unsure about, not receive slammed for "stereotyping" I am sure there are english people that do, do that. And yes it is disgusting. I never judged western people, I never judged anyone. I was curious and un edcuated about it..
